On Saturday 25th February we will be holding a fundraising event at our shop at Hoar Park Craft Village to help raise much needed funds for Dementia UK. These types of events are being held throughout the UK and have the most fabulous name of Time for a Cuppa?

We’d love it if you could come along and support us on the day and join us for a cup of tea, a slice of cake and have a browse through our book sale or a little go on our raffle. There will be fabulous prizes including a place on one of our full day workshops, a gift boxed selection of cupcakes (to collect at your own convenience) and much more.

All funds raised on the day will go in full to Dementia UK and we really would appreciate your support.

Saturday 25th February will also see the first of our new monthly events; Cake Sale Saturdays. This will be your chance to come along on a monthly basis and purchase cakes, cupcakes, cookies and more. You can also order cakes for collection on those days too. The Cake Sale Saturdays dates are as follows:

Here at C&P we love competitions and there’s no better reason to run one than in the name of LOVE!

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching we thought what better way to spread the love across the Midlands than with a competition to win some of our beautiful Valentine’s Day cupcakes.

All that you need to do to take part is email us on comps@cupcakesandpeonies.co.uk and tell us why you deserve to win a box of 6 of our delicious Valentine’s Day cupcakes, don’t forget to include your name and contact number too.  You can enter to win them for a loved one, friend, partner, family member or simply as a treat to yourself but don’t forget to tell us why the lucky recipient deserves them.

You have until midnight on Wednesday 8th February to get your entries in to us. The winners will be announced on Thursday 9th February at 10am and the winning boxes of cupcakes must be collected from our shop at Hoar Park Craft Village between Friday 10th – Tuesday 14th February. The winners will be chosen by the Cupcake Pixies here at C&P who will read all of your lovely tales.

Mother’s Day is quite early this year, Sunday 18th March so we thought it might be a good idea to give you all plenty of notice of our pretty and always popular Mother’s Day collections.

Similar to previous years we will be having two different collections, one with a traditional butter cream topping and the other being a fondant topped collection. You can see our fondant topped collection in the pictures in this post and it has already proved to be extremely popular.

Our Mother’s Day cupcakes will be available in orders of 6 or more and for collection only from our shop at Hoar Park Craft Village between Thursday 15th – Sunday 18th March (by prior ordering only). They are priced at £12 for a collection of 6 cupcakes and come in a beautiful gift boxed with hand-tied ribbon and swinging gift tag.

You know how much we love cake here at C&P and now it’s time for us to share that cake love around. Introducing our brand new monthly caking event…..The Cake Diaries!

Come and join us in our lovely home style kitchen at Hoar Park Craft Village on the first Tuesday of every month for an evening of cake decorating and chatter, and to make the evening even more perfect there will be a constant flow of tea and sweet treats!

The Cake Diaries is the perfect way to come and meet other likeminded people and spend a couple of hours learning new skills, working on an existing project that you may have or simply having a little play with all of C&P’s lovely cutters, tools and more.

The Cake Diaries will be held from 7-9pm on the first Tuesday of every month and there will be room to accommodate 5 people on each date. The bookings will be organised purely on a first come first serve basis and pre-booking your place is imperative. The calendar will be updated regularly so that you will know how many places are left. There will be a fee of £10.00 payable (payable in advance) to attend each session and this will include all of the equipment and ingredients that you may need. You will have the opportunity to use all of the in-house C&P cutters, tools, moulds, stencils, equipment and more and of course we will provide you with an array of fondants, buttercream, flower paste, sprinkles and anything else that you might need.

At every session there will be a selection of cupcakes and cake dummies for you to work with and of course you are also free to bring along your very own project to complete during the session.

We will be on hand throughout the evening to provide you with demonstrations, step by step guides to completing lots of pretty decorations and to answer any questions that you may have.

Please note that The Cake Diaries is a non-structured meeting and provides you with a chance to meet other cake loving people and try your hand at something new.

Happy New Year to all of our lovely friends from everyone here at C&P. We hope that 2012 is a year full of love and happiness for each and every one of you.

2011 was an amazing year for Cupcakes and Peonies. It was the year that saw us open our lovely little shop at Hoar Park Craft Village, make cakes for the likes of Katy Perry and Marc Jacobs and meet so many truly wonderful people through our workshops and cake orders that we really couldn’t have asked for a better year.

There are lots of exciting plans in the C&P pipeline for 2012 including new additions to our team of cupcake pixies (we will formally introduce them to you soon), new style workshops, a monthly social caking event (more details to come soon) and much much more.

We were recently asked to make a very special 18th birthday cake for Lucy and we absolutely loved working on the order.

When we spoke to Lucy’s Mum she said that Lucy particularly liked aspects of our Vintage House cupcakes and she was keen to centre her giant cupcake and smaller cupcakes around those designs, as well as incorporating a lovely sparkly 18 to celebrate her special day!

We set about making cakes that would complement Lucy’s special day and reflect her love of pretty vintage things.

Lucy loved the cakes and we were lucky enough to receive a message from Lucy’s Mum saying “Lucy’s cake was amazing! Everyone loved it, thank you so much for your hard work”. What a lovely message for us to receive.

We hope that Lucy had a wonderful birthday.

The evening of Thursday 1st December sees the annual Christmas event at Hoar Park Shopping & Craft Village.

The event starts at 6pm and amongst other things they’ll be mulled wine, hot chestnuts, The Burbage Silver Band, a choir singing carols, a hog roast and a visit from Santa Claus himself.

All of the shops at Hoar Park will be open with an array of pretty Christmas gifts for you to peruse whilst enjoying a warm mince pie.

We’ll be open and will have some truly Christmassy cupcakes for sale, including Festive Chocolate, our ever popular Vanilla cupcake and Christmas Pudding cupcakes!

We’ve had lots of lovely orders this past week but one of our favourites was the 1st birthday order for Anna!

We love all things pink and when a pretty pastel spectrum is thrown in to the mix too we are in our element.

We set about baking a super special 1st birthday giant cupcake for Anna along with a selection of lemon and vanilla smaller cupcakes too.

Anna’s Mum contacted us on Monday and had the following to say “Thanks so much for the cakes, they were beautiful and we had lots of lovely comments about them. They also tasted fantastic.”

We hope that Anna had a wonderful birthday and enjoyed some delicious cake too.
